It took Stuart Vevers and his team at Coach six months, including three days at a small hotel by a stream in upstate New York, to finesse the Rogue to his satisfaction ('I said to the other four designers, we're not leaving here until we've got it'). It's a fine, endearingly chunky bag in earth coloured, pebble textured leathers. 'A classic for cool girls and a cool bag for classic customers,' as Vevers succinctly describes it, with its contrasting suede interior, robust zips, luggage handles, twin straps that can be worn over the shoulder, edges that are painted rather than turned and stitched and a catchy name.
